The mission of Foxridge Community garden is to have neighbors come together to grow food, share knowledge, cultivate skills, connect with nature, and strengthen our community.

We are fortunate to have a thriving neighborhood of older adults, as well as young families, bringing multiple generations together through education and enrichment activities.   FCG will provide hands-on learning to children of all ages and will be given the opportunity to:

  • Plant various types of vegetables, herbs, and flowers
  • Measure and map out garden beds
  • Plant themed gardens (pizza garden!)
  • Prepare healthy meals from the garden’s harvest
  • Learn the importance of bees and native plants

Last year, we launched our Readers to Eaters program. This program is designed to educate children about the cycle from soil-to-table through storytelling, arts and crafts, gardening, and cooking.  We focused our year-end event on bees, including a story about bees, discussed the story, and shared our personal experience with bees.  This was followed by a bee craft for children to take home.
